Scripture

Luke 8: 5 – 7

A farmer went out to plant some seed. As he scattered it across the field, some seed fell on a footpath, where it was stepped on, and the birds came and ate it. Other seeds fell on shallow rock. This seed began to grow, but soon it withered and died for lack of moisture. Other seed fell among thorns that shot up and choked out the tender blades.

Observation

Jesus touring the nearby cities and village had announced the Good News concerning the Kingdom of God. One day Jesus told a story to a large crowd that had gathered from many towns to hear him.

Application

As most of you guys know. At the end of high school I placed myself in ACCF. Most of my friends from school were Non – Christians and not once during the time of High school did we ever talk about a God who is awesome & powerful. As I started serving in ACCF with Terence and the team I managed see bigger pictures in my life. During that time, I only manage to see my high school mates a couple of times that year. I think this scripture caught my eye because it sensed of a calling to what God has planned for many of us. For my high school friends to understand & see the secrets of the Kingdom of God would be awesome (cant even explain how I would feel). There is something in me for my close friends, calling me to guide these growths of seeds into unfamiliar territory.

Scripture

Luke 8: 25

Then he asked them, “Where is your faith?”

And there were filled with awe and amazement. They said to one another, “Who is this man, that even the winds and waves obey him?

Observation

One day Jesus and his disciples wanted to crowds over to the other side of the lake. A fierce storm developed that threatened to swamp them, and they were in real danger. Fearing that they would drown, woke Jesus. So he rebuked the wind and the raging waves. The stormed stopped and all was calm.

Application

I think the Question ‘Where is your faith’ is always planted in me as i go by my days/weeks. Last night as we were talking about Bob Larson and as Guo Jin was telling the 3 hour story, I could really sense and feared that our God is almighty powerful. For me this scripture brought me out of how strong my faith is. Having the image of being one of his disciples in that boat & not to have one single worrying thought about giant waves pounding, lighting striking and a storm that could tear the boat apart, challenges my life today of what faith am I holding on to.

Prayer

Father lord,

I pray for your power in me to have faith sitting in a boat with you, through storms and challenges. Help me learn to live a life of un-failing faith & love. Bless my high school friend’s lord, that have closed eyes. Re-open their eyes and let them see you. Let them fly lord into your arms and live free. I pray that you just use me, through your words and actions to journey through together with them. Let them see a life of power, glory & awe. Let these scriptures be fulfilled and the secrets of your Kingdom be unleashed in our faith in you. May you prepare and equip me with your heavy armory. In Jesus, I pray for these things.

Amen
