Luke 12, Isaiah 23,24

Scripture
Luke 12:19-20

And I'll say to myself,"you have plenty of good things laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry."

But God said to him,'You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who wil get what you have prepared for yourself?'

Observation

After good harvest, the rich were talking about how they should store their grains and goods. One of them said that, 'good' things will be laid up for many years to come. Living in a comfort zone; eat and drink well adn get richer. But God said and asked, what if we die tonight, who is going to get the things that we prepare for ourselves.

Application

In this modern society, there are so much emphasis on financial security. In order to live a 'better' life, people will save up, will work so hard to get more money and so on. But, what if one day, misfortune occur, accident happened. What and where will our storage of financial possession become or go to? As a christian, we know that God is going to come back one day, but we never know when is that going to happen.

What if, what if he comes for us all tomorrow, will we still bother about how much money we have, how good we look, how impressing our personal status is. I certainly will not. So why not do something for other people, do something more useful so that even if when we are not around, the society will still benefit from our past doings. Personally, I know my purpose of going to ocf is to help my housemate learn about
christ( Im 'dragging' them there now). They are still learning about christianity.. I just feel that God is challenging me now. What if one day Im not attending ocf. Is my housemate still going to go? Can I make them stay there even if Im not around?

Prayer
Lord, I just feel so fulfilling whenever I do devotion. And Lord, I just want to thank you Lord, thank you for letting me see bigger picture in my life Lord. Lord, I know at times i might get so involved in pursuing earthly possesion that I forgot about the most important thing in my life Lord. Lord I forget about you Lord. Lord, for now I just want to do something for you Lord. So that whenever you come for me Lord, Im ready Lord. I just want to uplift my housemate to you. Lord I just pray that one day Lord, whenever my housemate go to ocf or go to church Lord, they dont go there for company, but they go there for YOU Lord. Lord I thank you for the challenges you set before me and I just pray them you continue to shower your blessing in our community Lord. I pray all this in Jesus name. Amen
